I love bright colours, although I'm just as happy working in black and white with a dip pen and ink. How I develop a piece of art work will depend on the story itself.
Sometimes I will create the picture on paper, working with rough sketches, and then bring the scenes or characters to life with watercolours or acrylics. Other times, I will scan the pencil or ink drawings into my computer and work in layers in Photoshop, scanning in objects, backgrounds and textures.
Some artists like to stroll around with their sketch book. Personally, I'm happier with my Canon camera. I can walk, snap away, then come home and upload the photos into my computer. I then study each image individually. Behind every picture is a story waiting to be told.
