I was probably born with a pen in one hand and a pencil in the other? I seem to have been writing and illustrating forever.  At the age of 18, I had my first story published in a teenage magazine and I went on to write articles for newspapers and short stories/articles for magazines.
Following the publication of my book, Easy Picture Knits, I taught Design at my local College and then worked in Mental Health for the next 18 years. However, the writing and illustrating was still important to me. I edited a newsletter for staff and clients and ran Creative Writing classes throughout those years.
In 1998 I finally realized my dream to study art, and was accepted as a student on a 5-year, part-time course, at Wrexham College of Art in North Wales, gaining a 2.1 B.A. Degree in Children’s Book Illustration in 2003.
In 2007 I decided to have a complete change of career. So, gave up my job as a Training Co-ordinator to concentrate on my writing and illustrating. It’s a wonderful place to be and I am enjoying every minute.
I live in the beautiful countryside of North Wales, surrounded by fields and with a distant view of the sea. But the backgrounds for my books are always drawn from places I remember as a child.
